Licenses and Disclosures
Transparency matters, especially in the points and miles world. This page covers our referral relationships, trademark notices, and the third-party technologies that make The Points Planner work.
Referral links and commissions
Some outbound links on the service are personal credit card referral links. If you apply for a card through one of these links and are approved, the card issuer may give me (the operator of The Points Planner) a small referral reward in the form of miles, points, or a statement credit — the same reward any cardholder would get for referring a friend.
How this affects what you see:
- Referral commissions do not influence which cards we recommend, which benefits we highlight, or how we rank transfer partners.
- We recommend the card or strategy that we believe is best for your situation, regardless of whether we have a referral link for it.
- When a referral link exists, we make it available as a convenience — but you're always free to apply directly with the issuer instead. You will not lose any sign-up bonus or benefit by doing so.
In the future we may also join formal affiliate programs operated by credit card issuers or their networks (for example, through CardRatings, Bankrate, or similar). If and when that changes, we'll update this page and add appropriate disclosures.
This disclosure is made in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides. We disclose prominently and plainly because you deserve to know.

The Points Planner is an informational tool, not a financial advisor, travel agency, or broker. We do not hold a license to provide financial advice. Point valuations, benefit descriptions, transfer bonus estimates, and redemption information are based on public information and our best understanding of loyalty programs — all of which change constantly. Always verify directly with the issuer, loyalty program, or booking site before making a decision.
No issuer or program affiliation
The Points Planner is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected with American Express, Chase, Capital One, Citi, Bilt, Discover, or any other credit card issuer, bank, airline, hotel chain, or loyalty program mentioned on the service.
All company names, brand names, logos, trademarks, and registered trademarks referenced on the service are the property of their respective owners. They are used for descriptive, comparative, and informational purposes only, under nominative fair use. Examples include:
- American Express®, Amex®, Membership Rewards®, Platinum Card®, Gold Card®, and related marks are trademarks of American Express Company.
- Chase®, Sapphire®, Ultimate Rewards®, and related marks are trademarks of JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Photographs and visual assets used on the service are either original, licensed from third-party stock providers under their respective license terms, or generated by licensed AI image generators. Attribution is available on request.
Accuracy and errors
We try to keep information on the service accurate, but credit card programs, point valuations, transfer partners, and availability change frequently. If you notice an error or have a correction, please email contact@thepointsplanner.com — we appreciate it.

We may update this page from time to time as our partnerships, third-party vendors, or software stack change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
